Does anyone use some of the new Xenforo Thread Types?

Has anyone set these up in their forums, and how have they worked?

I tried an article thread, but did not get much interest

I use on my community the article type + [JoyFreak] Articles Extended! Work great for me.

I use articles and it’s doing very well. It depends how you use it and how much effort you put into it.

I only recently enabled question threads on our forums. I have yet to see the success with that.

The Question type

If you don't have a support forum, on any topic for that matter, this type of forum/thread won't be really helpful to your community in my opinion.

The Article Type

I think this is the type of forum that is the most promising in XenForo, it opens up a number of possibilities that have not yet been exploited. Even if JoyFreak's add-on is a perfect example of these possibilities. I hope that XF 2.3, which looks promising, will give us a nice surprise on this subject.

I use the article type, the others do not meet the needs of my community (yet). We`ll see what the future brings.

A couple of communities I'm involved with have tried them, to questionable success at the moment, but that doesn't mean they won't be useful in the future

It seems that they are not a raging success.

One of my problems is knowing how to set them up
I would not like just any member to be able to start one.
And is it done by forum category or global?

When you create or edit a node/forum, you can select to add in the different thread types to it, so it's on a per-forum basis, you don't have to have them in every single forum unless you want to
