The future of Blogger

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the future of Blogger (Blogspot). Will Google keep it or delete it.

In my opinion, bloggers are shaping the future of the industry?
The possibilities are endless, and the future is looking bright for bloggers everywhere, I think.

One thing I miss is the ability to search internal links directly from the post editor. If Blogger had this feature it would be great.

I don't really use Blogger. As a web admin, I'd set up my own site and use Wordpress as a CMS. I think I only ever used Blogger when I couldn't afford my own website and this was about over a decade ago when I was a lot younger.

Well, I guess the real question is, does Google update it?

Are they releasing new features and how often?

If they're not and haven't for a long time, I would assume they will be shutting it down at some point.

I recommend WordPress self-hosted software. Sharing hosting these days are pennies a month

I've wondered about Blogspot for a while in terms of why Google would keep it updated and not shut it down, especially as it doesn't have priced plans. But I suspect that they make enough money out of the Adsense on it - it's going to be organic content - to keep it worthwhile.

Thing is, a platform doesn't *need* to push out new features when it 'just works' for the current users.

Plus, you can now buy domains from Google.
