XenForo What's your expectation of XenForo 2.3?

I think it has big shoes to fill given the recent unrest and it is possible people are disappointed. I’d love to see a social groups type feature, seems a popular request.
 
The lack of communication from devs end is bad. At least they should tell us something.
You know... "giving crumbs to birds to keep them coming back" would be a good strategy in releasing a new update to the product.
 
2.3 will just mean more work. 2.2 is pretty much perfect for my needs. I know I'll probably see one aspect of 2.3 that I think I need and I'll start the round of upgrades, waiting for themes and addons. I can guarantee 2.3 will cost me money, and the time spent messing with it could earn me much more if I spent it generating good content instead.

We all waiting for it, to be honest, I think will take ages for new add-on developers to line with the product.
I like 2.2 and like you said... suit my needs. It is not perfect, always room for better but, HELL YEAH, I use it and I will use it even months after 2.3 release.

I have slimmed my add on list massively in preparation for 2.3.

The main twisting point for me will be compatibility with AMS.
 
Version 2.2 is pretty good. If I need anything else it is the ability to serve quizzes for my students.
 
They said something was coming soon (ages ago)
I think they use the same pr company as Nikon do.

But seriously I am quite happy with 2.2
I have only a few very minor requests

I think a lot of admins want XF to magically come out with some new feature that will double the number of members we get.

But how can we expect 2 guys to come up with that?

I've not seen any breaking changes posted by XF developers yet (they are really good about letting developers know about those ahead of time), and if there are any, those would be resolved during the Alpha, Beta, RC release cycle, so I highly doubt that it will take me more than a day to push out AMS 2.3.0 Stable after XF 2.3.0 is declared stable.

I’m just hoping that those suggestions with a lot of likes and votes actually get implemented finally. There’s some great suggestions that have had a lot of attention from users but have not been implemented.

I don’t really know what I’m expecting but I feel it won’t magically change the graft we, as forum owners, go through to generate users and activity. I feel most of those users who are eager for a release are expecting miracles with putting little effort into it themselves.

You're right...
Someone said (I can't find who)... that XenForo .2.2 it's at his pick and the best what we can get and his right. Probably we will get in 2.3 some updates on what we have now, but like you, I don't expect miracles and as I said, probably I will use 2.2 for a vile after 2.3 release.
 
A new version usually means add-ons stop working and you have to wait for a developer to make them work with the next version. Sometimes it takes them a while so I am never in a hurry to make the leap.

Agreed, my days or rushing to upgrade to the latest and greatest are over. Give it time for everyone to test it out, push the add-ons to the new version, fix any bugs, etc. THEN get going on the new version and any new toys :)
